Leganes 1-1 Real: Benzema saves vultures from losing

Despite striker Karim Benzema continuing to score goals, Real Madrid were still disappointed when they were held 1-1 at Leganes. Anyway, this result does not affect their 3rd place in charts La Liga.

Leganes: Jonathan Silva (45 ‘)

Real: Karim Benzema (51 ‘)

Leganes was judged to be an unrivaled competitor to Real, though in January they won 1-0 “White Vulture” in the return leg of the 1/8 of the Spanish King’s Cup (Real won 3-0 at turn). However, the team did not have much motivation because it was more than 10 points for the “red light” group to play a match against the Champions League champions.

Despite being forced to pitch, Leganes suddenly opened the score at the time the referee was about to finish the first half. Picking up a pass back to the right of Braithwaite, Jonathan Silva made a mistake with his left foot cushion to make the goalkeeper Keylor Navas fly to the point of being unable to save the Spanish Royal team.

Real doesn’t take long to find a equalizer. When the second half was just 6 minutes away, the highly-rated striker Karim Benzema managed to get the ball into Leganes after two consecutive attempts.

Thus, Benzema had the fourth match in a row for Real. Notably, in the last 6 games, he has scored 7 goals, contributed 3 assists and has 4 times to be voted the best player.

In the remaining minutes, Real played very determined in the hope of earning 3 points when leaving. Their efforts are clearly reflected in the fact that there are 3 players, Carvajal, Asensio and Valverde, who receive yellow cards in the second half, while no members of the home team are warned by the referee.

In fact, Real also created many opportunities but unfortunately they did not take advantage. Most notably, two situations Asensio and Marcelo forced Leganes goalkeeper Cuellar to pay for. Helpless in finding the way into the opponent’s goal, Real had to accept to leave with only 1 point.

After a 2-0 victory over Celta Vigo in the first match Zidane returned to work for his former team, Real had a fourth match in a row that could not defeat the opponent with a separate score. Obviously, there is no goal to strive to make Real difficult to find jubilant victories.

Anyway, Real did not worry about losing the third place in La Liga because they were far ahead of the fourth place, Sevilla, up to 9 points, at the end of the season there were only 6 rounds to finish.
